After Work
Steve leaves his office in SF and jumps on BART. His Assistant notices the time of day and the GPS route and deduces that Steve is on his way home from work. As Steve exists BART and begins to walk home, his Assistant sends him a text messages summary of the house information he is interested in.
1) Hazel came through the front door at 3:30.
2) She set her iPod down in her room at 3:33 and it has been immobile ever since.
3) There is a note from the fridge to pick up some milk and eggs.
4) His wife Nancy has sent him a note asking from some flour and Jasmine tea.
When he enteres the store his Assistant downloads the current specials and sends him a note that his favorite cereal is on sale and asks if he wants to pick up some strawberries since they are in season and are a featured item. The fridge has already confirmed that the last pack was eaten in 2 days.
Steve pays for his items and continues his short walk to the house. When he is 20 feet from home, the walkway lights turn on and the gate unlocks. Inside, Hazel’s iPod buzzes letting her know her father is almost home.
After Vacation
Laurie is returning from a week vacation. He car texts her a note to let her know it has not moved and that she has a half tank of gas. When she turns it on, the playlist she was listening to switches from her headphones to her car stereo.
Her phone pays the parking toll and sends a traffic update to her heads up display. Because she is going to be stuck in traffic for a while, she is asked if she wants her email send to the display when she is not moving or if she would like it read to her over the stereo. She declines both opting for a relaxed ride home.
15 minutes before getting home her Assistant turns on the heat and advises her that everything is secure and in good working order. As she turns up the driveway her garage door opens. As she exists the car, the lights in the entry room comes alive and her playlist is sent to her home stereo welcoming her home.
After Theft
Susan has just lost her cell phone. She believes it was stolen from her purse but is not sure. She decides to wipe her cell phone and register her phone as stolen with her Assistant. Her Assistant goes into “Recover Mode”.
A week later another person registers Susan’s phone. Every 15 minutes the microphone is turned on and records 15 seconds of audio. Every hour a photo is taken from both the front and back camera. GPS information is regularly recorded. These files are sent back to the Assistant and stored.
Susan has the option of having her Assistant send a note to the new user to let them know the phone is stolen. The new user can easily contact YVOD to make arrangements to return the phone.
Alternatively, her Assistant will send a notification to the screen suggesting the new user to take the phone to the Apple Store for a free upgrade. Susan’s Assistant knows when it has entered an Apple Store and will display a message on the screen for the Apple Store employee.
