Links/URLs in blog posts

It is very easy to put a link if your blog post. The format is like this:

<a href=”URL”>Title of URL</a>

NOTE: If people click on your link they will be taken away from your site (Not Good™) Change your link to include target=”_blank” and when they click on the link they will open up a new window while keeping a window open on your page (Good Thing™)

<a href=”URL” target=”_blank”>Title of URL</a>

Example: <a href=”http://peoplesgrocery.org/brahm/” target=”_blank”>Brahm’s Blog</a>
Working Example: Brahm’s Blog

PS: Make sure you deselect “Use the visual rich editor” - it messes stuff up! It is in you Adminstration “Options”.

One Response to “Links/URLs in blog posts”

  1. Marisa Says:

    Visit Marisa

WP automatically converts <a href rel=”nofollow”>

In Your Profile > Deselect the check box at the bottom saying “Use the visual rich editor”. It is problematic and often causes formatting problems.
