1) Grab and install a BitTorrent client
I like uTorrent.
2) Find a file online and download it
You can search online for the name of the file you are looking for with the word “torrent” in front of it:
“torrent sunshine movie”
You can also go to a torrent aggregator like The Pirate Bay or Kick Ass Torrents (Note: These sites often are funded by porn advertisements.)
3) Double click on the downloaded file (.torrent)
The file, called a torrent, you get off the trackers is going to be small as it is just a link to the actual file you want. All you need to do is double click on the torrent file (or drag it into your BitTorrent client). your BitTorrent client will then go out onto the internet and grab the real file you are looking for.
4) Create a usable file (optional)
Sometimes files that are large are broken up into pieces. This is becoming less of an issue but you may run into it. If the files you get have a .rar extension, go grab UnRarX to combine .rar files into a viewable movie file.
5) Watch your movie
Most movies are in an easy to watch format that will play when you double click them. Sometimes they are not. You may have to download a free application to view the movie. I suggest MPlayer or VLC.

One last thing to note.
BitTorrent works because people leave their client applications open long after they have finished downloading. When the client is open, it uploads your finished BitTorrent files to other people.
When you upload as much as you have downloaded, you are said to have a share ratio of 1. When you share twice as much as you download, you are said to have a share ratio of 2. The higher your share ratio… the more people love you. The more people love you… the faster you get to download files.
