What’s wrong with AIR?

“At first, I simply accepted the explanation. But the more I thought about it, the more it bugged me. It seemed like a decision that had everything to do with what’s in the best interests of the business, and little to do with what’s good for their customers.”

I love stuff like this. You exist to please your customers. Business should not make decisions based on what is good for them at the expense of their customers. The cheap ingredients example in the article is a good one.

I do find it funny that the guy who wrote the post is part of an executive and investor team that is almost all-white-male, yet their reason for starting their company “was born out of our frustration with banking“. [Never mind that their website breaks all kinds of usability rules – #1 you can’t link to a specific section without a lot of work.] I guess, as a potential customers of theirs, women and people of color don’t rate too high up on their list. Or maybe there just aren’t a lot of women and people of color who want to work on a banking startup in Brooklyn these days…
