I love this link: How-To Configure Outlook =) Everything you need to know is right there in a nice graphical format.
Well, there are a few extra things to note:
-
Webmail
Webmail URL: http://www.yourdomain/mail
Username: <your entire email address>
Password: <your password>
Every email account can send and receive mail using a web browser. This is independent of any governmental spying issues discussed below. If you have internet access, you will always be able to send and receive mail using webmail. Please use webmail if you ever run into problems.
-
Mail Server
SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain
POP3 Server: mail.yourdomain
All email applications ask you where you are getting your mail from (POP3) and how you plan to send mail (SMTP). Normally, this is very easy – simply plug in mail.yourdomain when the application asks you for this info.
We do not live in simple times (maybe this is a blessing!) The USA government requires large Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) to scan your mail. [YVOD LLC does not monitor your mail.] In order to scan your email some companies force you to use their mail servers to send email by blocking access to “port 25”. SBC/Yahoo! is notable in that they allow you to opt-out of this and use alternative mail servers like ours. Please review the links below to turn off port 25 blocking for SBC.

If you are not able to send mail using mail.yourdomain, you will need to contact the folks who provide you with internet access and ask them to help you set up your email.

Mail Administration
Mail Administration URL: http://www.yourdomain/mailadmin
Every YVOD account has a special administration account that allows you to set up and delete email accounts. Please refer to the master username and password you received in your welcome email.
