If you already own a domain (website) and you want to transfer it over to YVOD, there are a number of things that need to happen. We are familiar with this process and are happy to assist you, however, much of it can be done by you without too much effort.<\/p>\n
1) Unlock your domain<\/b><\/p>\n
All domains have “locks” on them that prevent them from transferring ownership and hosting. This is a Good Thing\u2122 since you do not want to wake up one day and find out someone has stolen your property. The organization you purchased the domain from (which is often the folks who currently host your domain) have the ability to “unlock” your domain. This should be a 5 minute painless process where you login to your domain user account and click the “unlock domain” box. If it is any more complicated than that, call your hosting provider and ask them to do it for you.<\/p>\n
2) Let YVOD know you wish to transfer your domain<\/b><\/p>\n
We need to do a bit of work on our end to accept your domain. We will set up a temporary account that will allow you to transfer your existing files and set up email. Again, we are happy to assist you with transferring your information.<\/p>\n
3) Reply to the email you will receive from SRSPlus.com<\/b><\/p>\n
YVOD will send you a request through SRSPlus.com within 24 hours asking if you want to transfer your domain. You must click on the supplied link that will take you to the SRSPlus.com website. Say “yup, transfer me” and away you go.<\/p>\n
4) Enjoy the comforts of YVOD<\/b><\/p>\n
If everything goes as planned, there should be no step 4. The Internet takes three to four days to update your records. You should experience no “downtime” if everything is handled correctly.<\/p>\n
