My cat is 20+ years old. She is completely blind and almost totally deaf. <\/p>\n
I come into the kitchen at 1:20am to see her eating and drinking. Satiated, she wants to return to the bedrooms but I have shut the door. She wonders the dinning room looking for her basket. <\/p>\n
As I stand in the doorway watching her my heart is filled with compassion. She is living the last years of her life in comfort, loved by all whom she encounters. <\/p>\n
I reflect on my own life and wonder if when I am old and decrepit at 100, will there be anyone to pick me up when I am lost and disoriented and searching for my warm safe spot to rest? <\/p>\n
I think of what a great life my cat has lived. I wish the peace of her life for all humans on this planet. May we all have a loving and safe warm space to lay our weary bones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
