Buy the iPad

Am seriously thinking about pre-ordering the iPad. Is that a good idea or should I wait a while? Also not sure which model would be best. I really do not want to pay for the 3G network access as I’m hoping that universal wi-fi will soon be the norm around here. Appreciate [...]

An educator wakes up

Art writes:
I loved this article:
I think Diane Ravitch’s vision for a traditional public education is similar to what we have in Albany, though obviously the district is in need of resources. I’m very happy with our district and a traditional public education, and I feel the article articulates what’s good about that tradition. I’m looking [...]

A newsletter done (mostly) wrong

I just received this newsletter from Twitter. This is an example of a why newsletters are a bad idea from the most part.
1) I never opted in.
2) It is not clear from the header information who is sending it (ie: it could be spam!)
3) There is nothing in here that I really want to read [...]

Apple Unibody Design

Apple has just been granted a patent on their unibody design for their laptops. (Yes, I am against patents as they limit the free flow of knowledge. Simple argument but one I believe.)
Here is the official Apple.com page on the design.
Here is the direct link to the remarkable video. Take a look =)

Email vs. Newsletters

Newsletters are bulk emails with graphics. I have been sending people over to Mail Chimp when they want to create newsletters. So far everyone is happy with that. Or, if they are not happy, they have not come back to give me a superior alternative.
Truth be told, I am not a big fan of newsletters. [...]

Where is the internet going with audio and video podcasts?

Podcasting is simply a handy way to deliver media rich content. This is where the internet is going.
You have free or paid content that you can download for cheap. You write up a nice little summary of what you get with a link at the bottom to download or purchase it. Oh, and it’s [...]

Reset MobileMe Sync Data

Ran into an issue where I could not reset the sync data on my 10.6 Mac. After pouring through a number of help documents, I came across one that worked. I am linking to it and two additional ones I found helpful.
1) Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: Resetting the SyncServices folder – http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627?viewlocale=en_US

Kutiman – This Is What It Became

Wow… I really like this. I very much appreciate this form of art. They are taking unrelated video clips and patching them together to tell a story. While it is technically straight forward, it requires quite a bit of skill. This is my favorite video of this style.
I especially enjoy the trombone…
