“High-quality” African-American Jazz musician are hard to find…

Re: I read that and it’s hard to figure. Yes, there are fewer black jazz musicians than there were, say 30 years ago, but why no black musicians this year? Very strange. I think (the new) Yoshi’s is pretty much run strictly as a business, so maybe that explains something.

Yup. If things do not matter, people do not notice. Obviously, working with black musicians is not a big deal for either Berkeley or Yoshi’s.

How to watch an AVI, DV, MOV, MPEG-1/2/4, DivX file on your DVD player

One word: Toast

Grab the latest version. Drop the file into Toast. Toast it (ie: burn the disk). Plop it in your DVD player. Works like a charm.

There are other ways, but this is the best - for a fee.

Crunch and Popcorn are less expensive and work as well ;)

Note: If you need to make a copy of a “real” (ie: copy protected) DVD, you will want to either use MacTheRipper to grab the files off the DVD and then use Toast to duplicate them… or with one pass, use

So I watched the entire thing and was happy. Not much new ground, but it is cool to see such important people have high respect for one another. I only wish our political leaders could act with such intelligence.
