My morning newspaper

At one time, our household subscribed to print versions of the
San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Times. However, for
quite some time now, these publications have been woefully
inadequate as a source of accurate and timely news. Too often,
like most of the so-called main stream media, they are simply
propaganda outlets for the Bush administration.

So now, as I drink my morning cup of coffee, instead of opening
up the newspaper, I open the following seven websites as tabs in
my browser window and proceed to read my paper:

http://www.truthout.org/ t r u t h o u t - News Politics
http://www.opednews.com/ OpEdNews - Progressive News and Opinion
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ The Huffington Post
http://www.dailykos.com/ Daily Kos: State of the Nation

http://www.smirkingchimp.com/ The Smirking Chimp
http://www.crooksandliars.com/ Crooks and Liars
http://www.theprogressiveconnection.com/ Local politics for the East Bay and beyond…

Often there are links on these sites to some of the other sites
listed below. I occasionally post my views about the news on the
Oakland Drinking Liberally blog under the moniker regular_guy.
